Meet Josh

Josh King is a decorated U.S. Army Veteran whose service includes two tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his second tour, Josh learned that his first-born child, had been diagnosed with autism. He put his career on hold and rushed back home to his family. Ever since, he has been involved in our community, advocating for the disabled and volunteering to help veterans re-integrate into civilian life.

Josh was prompted to run when his daughter, Josclyn, had to go a whole year without a teacher because her school’s special needs program was inadequately funded. He wants to make sure that no child in the Commonwealth, especially one with special needs, goes an entire year without a teacher. He also wants the state to invest in mass transit options like the Virginia Railway Express so we can reduce congestion and increase our quality of life. And he believes that we need high quality jobs in the 2nd district to cut down the number of people who commute hours and hours to work every day.

Josh and his wife Candi live in Swans Creek with their three children and fish, Blaze Fishy.

The district needs a delegate who personally understands the unique challenges facing Prince William and Stafford families.   Someone who will work to reduce school overcrowding, increase our transportation options, and work tirelessly to attract more jobs to the area.  I’m fully committed to being that advocate.”
